Acorn is the first in Wales to achieve prestigious CII Accreditation

9 Nov 2017 News Company

Award-winning apprenticeship provider, Acorn, has been awarded Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Accredited Apprenticeship Training Provider status, making them the first provider in Wales to achieve such status and only one of a small number of providers throughout the UK.

First in Wales

The CII accreditation is well-respected in the industry and provides formal recognition of high quality learning and contribution to professional development. Acorn has worked with the CII for many years and in 2009, was the first training provider in Wales to achieve CII Course Provider accreditation for its training for CII qualifications. This newest accreditation now allows Acorn to deliver a number of different Pathways within the Providing Financial Services Apprenticeships. Learners are able to start from Foundation Apprenticeships and work right up to Higher Apprenticeships where they can achieve the highly coveted Diploma in Insurance (and Dip CII designation for CII members). These apprenticeship programmes are suitable for new and existing staff within a number of different career levels.

Speaking about the accreditation, Helena Williams, Corporate Development Director for Acorn, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been reaccredited as a CII Apprenticeship Training Provider, not only to continue to deliver the existing Financial Apprenticeship, but to be able to offer more training opportunities within the industry to organisations and their staff on a variety of levels.

High quality training

“At Acorn, we are dedicated in providing high quality training to ensure both our clients and learners are receiving the best support to develop their companies and career paths. Through our extensive knowledge of the finance and insurance sector we are able to provide that and the accreditation demonstrates our ability to do so at a high standard.”

Jeremy Mullen, Assessment Manager – Accreditation at the Chartered Insurance Institute, said: “We have worked with Acorn for many years and have always been impressed by their commitment and drive to continuously offer more training opportunities to their clients. We are delighted they have met the rigorous requirements to be awarded this accreditation.”

Leading the way

With over 15 years’ experience in the training industry, Acorn continuously leads the way by developing and introducing new courses in partnership with a number of educational establishments.  Recent launches include the introduction of the Higher Apprenticeship in Accounting, CIPD Level 5 Apprenticeship - a diploma in Human Resources Management, and the Level 4 Diploma in Project Management.  Acorn was also the first training provider in the UK to deliver and achieve the Higher Apprenticeship in Banking.
