Participants will learn how to plan, allocate and monitor work in own area of responsibility. Evidence how practice supports quality systems. Observation of performance in the working environment. Examine product evidence and take part in questioning.

Aimed at: practitioners who lead the internal quality assurance process within a centre/organisation and have responsibility for managing the quality of the assessment process, practice and the performance of assessors. They may also develop systems and have line management responsibilities whilst leading on External Quality Assurance (EQA) visits.

Pre requisite: Participants will need to provide evidence of their IQA certification (units 401 & 402) before undertaking this course. And two IQA’s that they are responsible for.

This qualification will require the participant to have completed the City & Guilds (or equivalent) Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.

The learner’s area of responsibility must include managing or coordinating quality assurance within the organisation, including overseeing the work of a team of IQAs (minimum 2).

Delivery: Unit 403 is delivered through two online workshops covering strategic planning, reviewing the skills base of the assessment team, setting priorities, and measuring success. Learners will develop an overall quality assurance plan, allocate and monitor work within their team, identify and resolve issues and ensure appropriate resources and support are in place.

This course is designed to be completed within four months.
