What you will learn with Blockchain Fundamentals:
Explore relational, non-relational, and next-generation database technologies, and gain hands-on experience with the tools, methodologies, and techniques that underpin modern data management. By the end of the module, you’ll be able to evaluate data strategies, optimise knowledge workflows, and support informed decision-making in organisations across industries.

Course Delivery
This course is delivered in partnership with Cardiff Metropolitan University online and in person sessions, workshops and independent guided study. This course will consist of 36 hours of face-to-face learning and 140 hours of independent study across 12 weeks. Courses will be delivered once a week 6pm-9pm.
Learners will have the opportunity to choose between the Data & Knowledge Management or Blockchain Fundamentals module.

- Concurrency and performance issues in databases, transaction management.
- Data Quality/Data Capture, Functions of Visualisations, Graphic Integrity, Data-Ink Ratio, Table & Graphs, Multiple Datasets, Interactive Graphs.
- Business Understanding, Data Understanding, Data Protection, Modelling, evaluation.
- Statistical Software, data Programming, Databases & languages, Business Intelligence Tools.
- Big data and analytics.
- Non-relational and semi-structured data, NoSQL.
